The Move to a New Classroom

Another move.  When my principal told me I'd be changing classrooms I was not excited.  But, as always I tried to find the positive. The new room is closer to the office, the nurse, and the cafeteria.  It does not have a wall of windows like the other classroom, which tended to heat the room up, even with dark curtains.

The windows around the door  are the only windows in the new classroom.
The room is a little smaller and just sorta odd, it is longer and narrower than my previous classroom.  The week after school was out everything was moved to the new room.

And the best thing is that it has a much larger closet.

I've been working on it a little at a time.  Thanks to my friend Hope I have Montessori materials out of the box and on the shelf.  As you can see from all the materials still in the cubbies there is still a lot to do

This picture shows the cool metal containers I purchased at Hobby Lobby for my
Farmhouse/Fixer up theme.

Well, I'll reveal my Special Ed Montessori room in about three weeks.  This week I am attending several Professional Development Workshops offered by our Dept of Education. I'll let you know what I learn in the next post. Until then have fun, enjoy your summer!   Rene'

This Blog is Under Construction

Hi Everyone, I am excited about beginning this blog about my experiences incorporating Montessori into my Multi-Categorical Special Ed Classroom.  Just getting started with this whole blogging thing so be patient with me while I figure it out.
I start back on August the 9th, so a classroom reveal is in the near future.
